Construction Project Updates

As a water provider, we continuously upgrade, maintain, and repair our system so it can continue to serve our customers. The purpose of this page is to provide information about current Santa Fe Irrigation District projects, explain their need and benefits and inform the community about potential impacts during construction.

Although the District understands that construction creates an inconvenience, it is committed to keeping the community informed of current projects, while working to minimize construction impacts as much as possible.

For any questions or concerns about these projects, please call the District’s construction hotline at (858)-227-5800.

How Will I Be Affected?

Any member of our community directly impacted by a water interruption or blocked driveway will be notified ahead of required construction activity.

Some driveways will be closed temporarily during construction and there could be brief water shutoffs to affected properties while pipelines are replaced. The District is working closely with our construction contractors to minimize impacts. Access to neighborhoods and businesses will be maintained at all times, traffic delays are expected and motorists are asked to follow traffic controls during this time or use an alternate route during the construction period, if possible.

Paving

The asphalt applied daily is temporary and designed to provide a safe road surface during construction. Final paving occurs after pipeline work is completed.
