Clearwell Seismic Improvements

Joint Facilities project #1750

The Clearwell is a 13 million gallon buried concrete tank located at the R.E. Badger Water Filtration Plant site that stores treated potable water. The tank is 252 feet X 329 feet and its depth varies between 16 and 25 feet. The Clearwell was built in the middle 1960s. This project includes the design and construction of improvements to enhance the facilities ability to withstand seismic events.  In order to improve economy of scale and enhance efficiency, this project will be combined with other Joint Facilities Projects.
Design was initiated in Fiscal Year 2017 and completed in Fiscal Year 2018. Construction will occur between Fiscal Year 2019 and Fiscal Year 2020.

This project will extend the service life of the asset, and bring it into compliance with seismic regulatory requirements.

FY 19 Expenditures: $1,145,000
Total Project Costs: $2,400,000
