Water Conservation Programs
Water conservation ensures the District will continue to deliver a reliable and sustainable supply of water for future generations. It also helps to keep your water costs low.
For more information about SFID water conservation programs, please call (858) 227-5801.
Water conservation programs can help you save money by reducing your water use in homes, businesses, landscaping or agriculture.
A great way to start water conservation at your home is to have a free residential survey. To schedule a free residential survey, please call:
- (866) 883-1332 for properties under 1 acre of landscape
- (858) 756-5672 for properties larger than 1 acre of landscape
Please contact the San Diego County Water Authority at (800) 986-4538 to obtain vouchers for discounts on various water saving devices: toilets, clothes washers, irrigation controllers. Or call our conservation hotline at (858) 227-5801 for information on our conservation programs.
- Additional information is available online:
- Residential Customer Rebates (single-family homes)
- Residential Multi-Family Customer Programs (apartments, condos, mobile homes and HOAs)
- Business Customer Programs ( commercial, industrial)
- Due to the popularity of these rebate programs, funds may no longer be available. For updated information, please call (858) 756-5672.

Massaging shower head, kitchen swivel aerator and two bath faucet aerators — up to 20% of the state's energy use is attributed to providing water, so saving water also saves energy by not having to move as much water.
